What we collect

When you place an order, we collect your name, email address, shipping address, and payment information. Payment details are processed by Shopify Payments and PayPal — we never store your card number. When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address only.

How we use it

We use your information to fulfill orders, send shipping updates, and — if you've opted in — send occasional emails about new products, sleep tips, and promotions. We do not sell your personal information to third parties, ever.

Email marketing

Email marketing is handled by Klaviyo. If you subscribed to our newsletter, your email address is stored in Klaviyo under our account. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of any email we send. We typically send 2–4 emails per month.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site — which pages are visited, how long people stay, and where traffic comes from. This data is aggregated and anonymous. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Cookies

Our site uses cookies to remember your cart contents (via localStorage) and whether you've dismissed the announcement bar. These are functional only — no advertising cookies are set by Coolside. Shopify and PayPal may set their own cookies during checkout.

• Shopify — order processing, payments, and fulfillment data
• Zendrop — dropshipping fulfillment; receives your name and shipping address to ship your order
• Klaviyo — email marketing for newsletter subscribers
• Google Analytics — anonymous site analytics
• Netlify — website hosting; newsletter form submissions are also captured here

Your rights

You may request a copy of your personal data, ask us to delete it, or correct it at any time by emailing hello@coolside.store. We'll respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or California, additional rights may apply under GDPR or CCPA respectively — contact us for details.

Data retention

Order records are retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. You can request deletion at any time.

Children's privacy

Our site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Significant changes will be noted in our newsletter.
